The
annual orientation program for new faculty and academic professionals will
be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the
Illini Union. Registration for
faculty and other academics will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the entrance of the
Illini Rooms. Registration for
academic professionals will occur in the same location at 9:45 a.m.
The orientation program includes sessions on tenure and promotion, campus
resources that support research and teaching, information on the strategic
plan and work/life balance. Provost
Linda Katehi will provide the welcome and Chancellor Richard Herman will
be the keynote speaker at the luncheon.
A
Campus Resource Fair will be held in Illini Room B during registration and
break periods. This program provides a valuable opportunity for new
employees to learn about life and work at the University, issues that
affect them personally and professionally, and resources in the
surrounding community.
An
email invitation will be sent to the new academic staff members who have
been hired since August 22, 2006. Please

and RSVP once they receive their invitation.
