TUITION AND FEE (SERVICE FEE) WAIVER ELIGIBILITY

The student must hold an assistantship between 25 and 67 percent time for 91 calendar days in each semester (41 calendar days during the summer session) beginning with the first day of instruction through the last day of final exams. For an assistantship in the period between May 16 and August 15, a student is not required to register if the student was registered for the immediately preceding spring semester or has registered for the following fall semester. Some departments may require students with assistantships during this period to register. Graduate assistants not registered for a minimum of 6 hours during fall and/or spring semesters and 3 hours during the summer semester will be subject to Social Security and Medicare deductions. A tuition and fee waiver held during the spring semester will extend through the summer unless the appointment held during the summer is less than 25 percent or more than 67 percent.
