SERVICE ON STANDING AND AD HOC COMMITTEES

 

Ø      Chancellor's Academic Professional Excellence (CAPE) Award Committee:

Campus-wide committee appointed by Academic Human Resources with recommendations of CAP. AHR staffs this committee, offering total support to this committee which recommends six academic professional award winners each year to the Chancellor.

Ø      Faculty Benefits Committee:

Service on this Faculty Senate Committee for close to 10 years as the Provost's designee (ex-officio, non-voting).  Committee makes recommendations to the Faculty Senate and the administration regarding ways benefits could be improved for faculty and staff.

Ø      Faculty/Staff Assistance Program Advisory Committee:

Advise the Director of the Faculty/Staff Assistance Program, a short-term counseling and referral employee assistance program (EAP) for faculty and staff, retirees, and their families.  Appointed to represent Office of the Provost--Academic Human Resources by the Vice Chancellor for Administration.

  Ø      Incidents Review Committee:

A committee which brings together a number of resources (i.e., Police, Counseling Center, Legal Counsel, Academic Human Resources/Provost Office, and Personnel Services Office) to assist units in dealing with incidents of workplace violence.

Ø      Council of Academic Professionals (CAP):

The CAP is a campus-wide advisory committee responsible to the Chancellor.  Academic Human Resources provides support and consultation on academic policies and serve in a liaison role on behalf of the Chancellor.  Coordinate the annual CAP Elections.

Ø      Academic Advisory Council:

This is a university-wide committee reporting to Robert Todd, Associate Vice President for Administration and Human Resources. Serve as a member representing the Office of the Provost--Academic Human Resources regarding academic personnel policy. Collaborate and discuss current and upcoming appointment policy issues with the other 2 UI campus (UIC and UIS); investigate viable changes or solutions to problems; and present recommendations and proposals to the Associate VP for consideration.  This committee meets each quarter in Pontiac, Illinois.

Ø      UIUC Academic Caucus:

Chair this committee composed of personnel/business representatives from the colleges which meets each month.  This committee provides a good opportunity for regular communication with those responsible for the day to day personnel operations within the colleges and provides them with an opportunity for discussion and to make recommendations for changes in a constantly changing business environment.

Ø      UIUC ID Card Committee:

Campus-wide committee, which develops ID card policies and deals with continuing issues of identification cards. Academic Human Resources represents academic employee and retiree issues on this committee. Contact:  Debi Stone (Robin Pruitt)

 

Ø      University Professional Personnel Advisory Committee (UPPAC):

The University-wide version of PAC which includes several members of each PAC on each of the three campuses and ex-officio members of the administration of which Academic Human Resources is one.  Contact:  Elyne Cole (Terri Palumbo)
